Donation helps KFD training

Kauai Fire Department personnel participated in a one-week safety training session on O‘ahu, funded in part by a donation from Chevron Hawaii.

Paul Liang, outer-island terminal manager for Chevron, presented Fire Chief Charlie Hiramoto with a check for $1,500 on Monday.

The funds helped defray the costs for the KFD personnel to travel to O‘ahu for the Hawaii Petroleum Fire Protection Course that took place earlier this month.

Four KFD members were able to attend the training at Barber’s Point.
