LIHU‘E — The Le‘ale‘a Women’s Summer League Division 3.0 team will be heading to Maui to compete in the Hawai‘i State Sectionals that will be played at Kapalua from August 15 to 17.
Members of the team have been putting in some “serious” practices in anticipation of the upcoming tournament asaid one Maui-bound member of the team.
Le‘ale‘a, should they be successful in their state bid this weekend, would be heading to Arizona for the Regionals in September.
Team members making the Maui tour include Shizue Akama, Sheri Boulay, Debbie Gia, Avis Hirahara, Carole Kahn, Nora Masuda, Sylia Oliver, Rosie Santiago, Helen Young, Mari Anderson, coach Juan Lorenzo, and Assistant Coach Michelle Albarado.
Le‘ale‘a means “fun.”
