The annual Paradise Ride made its way to Kaua‘i at about 8:30 a.m. Monday morning when over 50 bicyclist taking part in the ride arrived at Lihu‘e Airport.
The riders are on a mutlti-island swing, and head off to Maui and Moloka‘i next.
The group headed for Salt Pond Beach Park to camp out Monday night, following a ride along a pre-planned scenic route.
This morning the group was scheduled to ride back to the airport to catch a flight out, along with their bicycles, this time riding on a more direct route to catch their plane on time.
Each rider raised at least $2,500 to benefit AIDS research and related programs.
The group was met by a team of volunteers who provided food, drink and other services to the cyclists.
