Pair promoted at Alexander Day Spa & Salon

Rueben Doronio has been promoted to spa director, and Brenda Zafirides to salon manager, at Alexander Day Spa & Salon at the Kaua‘i Marriott Resort & Beach Club on Kalapaki Beach.

The promotions were announced by Alexander Simson, owner of the spa and salon.

Doronio was trained in the ancient Hawaiian style of body work, and is a third-generation Native Hawaiian carrying on the family tradition of healing-arts practitioners.

Known as one of Kaua‘i’s most experienced massage therapists and aestheticians, he has extensive knowledge of the spa business.

Zafirides has over 20 years experience in the beauty business, including work in the New York modeling industry, as district educator for a major hair-product manufacturer, and manager of a department-store salon that was part of a nationwide chain.

Simson will be traveling periodically to the Mainland, pursuing treatment not available on Kaua‘i for his son with special needs.

Alexander Day Spa & Salon currently employs 10 massage therapists and aestheticians, four hairstylists, three nail technicians, three receptionists, and one desk manager.
