Alio Santos Sr.
Alio Clarence Santos, Sr. of Edmore, Mich., died at Kelsey Memorial Hospital on June 25, 2003 at the age of 91.
Born in the Philippines on April 2, 1912, he was retired from the Board of Water Supply.
He is survived by his wife, Pearl Rapozo Santos; two children, Alio (Cynthia) Santos, Jr., of Edmore, Mich.; and Kathleen (Michael) Hanson of O‘ahu; three grandchildren, Erin Santos, Alio Santos III, and Bradley Santos.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret L. Santos in 1980, an infant daughter, and brother, Edward Santos.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, July 13, at Koolau Huiia Protestant Church in Anahola, with Rev. Bob Merkel officiating.
Daniel Lum
Daniel C.K. “Danny” Lum of Honolulu, died on June 30, 2003 at the age of 66.
Born in Wailua, Kaua‘i, on January 19, 1937, he was a retired Honolulu Fire Department captain. He was also an Aloha Airlines, Roberts Hawaii and Sears Roebuck employee.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte; son Keith; daughters, Nadine Maida and Jamie Tom; brothers, Benny, Joe, Lloyd and Raymond; sisters, Eva Shak, Annie Conching, Christine Ikeda, Lydia Au, Ada Conching, Betty Takahashi and Francine Castro and 4 grandchildren.
Services were held in Honolulu.

Elsie Gardner
Elsie Gardner of Kalaheo, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on July 9, 2003 at the age of 92.
Born in Waipahu on January 1, 1911, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her son, Jerry Gardner, Sr. of Nevada; daughter, Joyce (Daniel) Gardner Kamekona of Nevada; sisters and brothers, 8 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 19 great-great grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Monday, July 14, at Holy Cross Church from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. where services will be celebrated at 7 p.m. and again on Tuesday, July 15, at Honolulu Borthwick Mauka Chapel from 10 a.m. to noon. Burial to follow at Mililani Memorial Park Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.

Patrick Silva Jr.
Patrick Wayne Silva, Jr. of Kekaha died on July 5, 2003, at the age of 35.
Born in Lihu‘e on September 19, 1968, he was a construction worker.
He is survived by his fiancé, Renae Waalani; children, Hoku Lee, hanai daughter, Rosey Prem, Ikaika and Janae Lazaro; mother, Mary K. Mira of Kekaha; father, Patrick (Connie) Silva, Sr. of Honolulu; sisters, Anchala Kealoha of Honolulu, Marie Silva of Missouri, Talma (Eaton Rivera) Silva of Kekaha, Lisa Santos of Honolulu, numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, July 12, at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. where services will be conducted at noon. Burial to follow at Lihu‘e Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.
