Kendall Lemn, Jr.
Kendall Kunane Hisashi Lemn, Jr., 19, of Anahola, died on June 19, 2003, in Anahola when he fell asleep at the wheel while driving home and hit a coconut tree.
Born in Lihu‘e, Kunane was a third year college student at the University of Hawai‘i, Manoa.
He is survived by his parents, Kendall and Ronnie Lynn (Yasui) Lemn, sisters, Shonnielyn and Kailee; twin brothers, Dylan and Devin; great-grandfather, William K. Lemn, Sr.; grandparents William and Luella (Hasegawa) Lemn, uncles, Kevin and Nathan Lemn; cousins, Zaiana and Kayla Huddy Lemn; all of Anahola; by his uncle and aunt; Scott Nunokawa and Haunani Lemn; and cousins, Nahulu, Kahulu, and Hulukoa Nunokawa of Wailuku, Maui.
He is also survived by his grandfather Ronald Yasui; uncle, Kerry Yasui; cousin, Selena Loughmiller, uncle and aunt, Keith and Ruth Yasui, cousins, Taylor and Tanner Yasui; uncle and aunt, Kevin and Joann Yasui; uncle and aunt, Darrell and Sharon Uyeno, all of Honolulu; and others too numerous to name.
A memorial service will take place on Saturday, June 28, at the Ko‘olau Hui‘ia Church in Anahola. Visitation with the family will take place at 10 a.m. with the service to follow at 11 a.m. Following the service, the scattering of ashes will take place in Anahola Bay at the Anahola Landing. Aloha attire is suggested and, for those wishing to participate in the scattering of ashes, a change of casual beach clothes is recommended. The family welcomes mourners to break bread with them at Anahola Beach Park after the scattering.
Darius Yasay
Darius Kekoa Yasay of Lawa‘i died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on June 21, 2003, at the age of 17.
Born in Lihu‘e, Kauai on May 10, 1986, he was a student at Kaua‘i High School.
He is survived by parents, Ernest E. & Debra L. Yasay of Lawa‘i; two sisters, Brandi L. Lizama and Krystin M. Yasay, both of Lawa‘i; maternal grandparents, Tom and Joyce Thomason of Waimea; paternal grandmother, Dora Yasay of Lihu‘e; great-grandparents, Rose G. Pavao of Hayward, Calif., and Joseph Pavao of Kalaheo; numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. Friends may visit with the family at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel; service at 4 p.m.
Casual attire is suggested and that flowers be omitted. Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Marvelin Aquino
Marvelin Maile Aquino of San Diego, California, died on April 30, 2003, at the age of 53.
Born in Hilo on September 20, 1949, she retired from the Navy as a Petty Officer after 20 years. She was a Secretary for the California Western School of Law – Faculty Development.
She is preceded in death by Cecelia Waikiki, Alfonso Aquino, Alfred and Connie Louis. She is survived by her sisters, Lourdes (Todd) Fuchshuber of Honolulu, Jeanne Callahan of Kalaheo, Pat (Kalani) Tachibana of Kalaheo; brother, Alfred (Tudi) Louise of Kalaheo.

John Ioane Haluapo of ‘Oma‘o, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on June 17, 2003 at the age of 71.
Born in Ahukini, Kaua‘i on June 10, 1932, he is survived by six brothers, Charles (Georgiana) Haluapo Jr. of Wash., Samuel Haluapo of Wash., David Haluapo of Wash., James Haluapo of Wailua, Edward (Marilyn) Keoho Sr., of Kapa‘a and Clifford (Dannette) Lee Sr. of Kapa‘a; two sisters, Elizabeth “Makulapua” Haluapo of ‘Oma‘o and Hattie (James) Telles of Hanama‘ulu; care-giver and grand niece, Kathy (Matthew) Louis of ‘Oma‘o; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may visit with the family at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, at the Lihue First Church; service officiated by Rev. Gaylord Williams will begin at 11 a.m.

Marjorie Valier
Marjorie Valier of Princeville formerly of Honolulu, died at home on June 22, 2003 at the age of 86.
Born in Brooklyn, New York on March 30, 1917, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by three daughters, Christina (Stanislav) Grof of Calif., Peggy Goodale of Calif., and Kathy Valier of Hanalei; 2 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild; sister, Sally Donart of Idaho; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
