Muranaka sinkshole-in-one

Harry Muranaka of Lihue had a hole in one at the Wailua Golf Course on Wednesday.

Muranaka used a 3-wood from 226 yards on the third hold to achieve the shot.

This was his third hole in one. On Thursday, Paul Toma of Honolulu sank a hole in one at Puakea Golf Course using a six-iron on the third hold from 169 yards away.

Volleyball event begins July 3

The 3rd Annual 4-Person Beach Volleyball Tournament will be held on July 3 through July 6 at the Coconut Grove Marketplace and The Keauhou Harbor beach Courts.

Second tourney starts July 27

The 2nd annual Kauai Spearfishing Tournament will be held on July 27 at Anini Beach Park. beginning at 7 a.m.

The check-in is at 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.

The tournament and weigh-in will immediately follow. Required safety equipment is Dive float with dive flag and dive knife. Categories: Largest Fish (5 places), Largest Uku, Largest Mu and Largest Tako.

Prizes for all categories. Entry fee of $35 each diver (includes tournament T-shirt, extra T-shirts $15 each).

Limit to first 50 entries.

Deadline is July 15.
