Isamu Kawaguchi
Isamu Kawaguchi of Puhi, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Apr. 9, 2003 at the age of 93.
Born in Huleia, on Sept. 7, 1909, he was a Truck Driver with Grove Farm Co.
He is survived by wife, Miyoko; three daughters, Hatsuko Kawaguchi of Lihu’e, Katherine (Ichio) Nagato of Lihu’e and Irene (Richard Jr.) Hamada of Lawa’i; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services were private.
Arrangements were handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Wayne Emielita
Wayne Emielita of Wailua, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on April 9, 2003 at the age of 47.
Born in Fullerton, CA. on Jan. 26, 1956, he was the Owner of MR WINDOW.
He is survived by wife, Nancy Erselius of Kapa’a; mother, Helen Emielita of Kapa’a; father, Led Emielita of North Carolina; brother, Paul of Mesa, AZ.; sister, Summer Reeves of Hopatcong of NJ; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will begin at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, at his residence – 257 Molo Street, Wailua Homesteads. Casual attire is suggested and flowers omitted. Donations may be made to Kaua’i Museum, Kaua’i Humane Society, KKCR and Kaua’i Hospice.

Paul Brede Sr.
Paul Hukiku Brede Sr. of Anahola, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on April 11, 2003 at the age of 61.
Born in Hanama’ulu, on Feb. 1, 1942, he was a mechanic with Grayline Hawai’i.
He is survived by wife, Josephine; four sons, Paul H. (Clorinda) Brede, Jr. of Anahola, Clyde H. (Kathy) Brede of Kapa’a, Scott K. (Cheryl) Brede of Wailua and Preston K. Brede of Anahola; daughter, Jolyn P. (Joseph) Borden of Anahola; two brothers, William (Julliette) Brede, Jr. of Anahola and Wayson Lono (Lavern) Brede of Anahola; two sisters, Mary (Benjamin) Aranio of Oma’o and Hazel (William) Aki of Anahola. 10 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild.
Friends may visit with the family at 10 a.m. on Tuesday April 22, at the Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Kapa’a Ward; service officiated by Bishop Kevin Cram will begin at 12 noon. Followed by burial at Kauai Memorial Gardens. Casual attire is suggested.

Feliciano Malbog
Feliciano Villanueva Malbog of Hanama’ulu died April 15, 2003, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 93.
A machinist for Lihu’e Plantation, he was born Jan. 24, 1910, in the Philippines.
He is survived by his wife: Nieves Macaraeg Malbo of Hanama’ulu; one daughter: Joan L. Santos of Honolulu; three sons: Lawrence “Larry” M. (Irene) Santos of O’ahu, Kenneth J. (Mela) Santos of Hanama’ulu, and Edward (Mary) Santos of Hanama’ulu; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Family and friends may clal on Monday, April 21, at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. where Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. by Father Keahi. Burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary.
Ichiro Kato
Ichiro Kato of Lihu’e, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Apr. 12, 2003 at the age of 82.
Born in Lihu’e, on Oct. 12, 1920, he was a Office Worker with Lihu’e Plantation.
He is survived by wife, Fumiko; two sons, Eric Kato of Lihu’e, and Charles Kato of Seattle, WA.; brother, Sadao Kato of Honolulu; 4 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Services were private.
