Ron Wiley, the popular talk radio commentator for KONG radio in Lihu’e, is collecting names of the men and women of Kaua’i who are serving in the Iraq War.
Parents and other relatives are providing most of the names, and Wiley is announcing them on the air with some basic information about the branch of the Armed Forces they are serving in, and where they are located in the Middle East.
The Garden Island is assisting Wiley in getting the word out as the names come in to him, and will be publishing the list as he updates it.
As of Wednesday afternoon, the list included:
Eric Estenzo; Sgt Craig Ferriera (Army); Sgt.-Major Walter Ventura; Sgt. Deangelo Cody chaplin’s assistant; Sal Hernandez Marine, who is married to Sherilyn Hernandez; Joey Stevens (Navy) aboard USS Abraham Lincoln; Marine Tobin Teruya; Marine Andrew Lundgren; Marlin Cadiente Air Force; Michael Hagan, Army; Royal Cacal, Army; Chauncey Lovell, Marine in Kuwait; William Carlson aboard the USS Tarawa in the Persian Gulf; Michael Reep, USS Kitty Hawk; Brandon Casanova, on way to Kuwait; Sgt. Ernest Rabot.
