WAILUA – The rains that blanketed the Eastside may have added a few strokes to the game of the Kaua’i High School Red Raiders, but it couldn’t dampen their quest for the gold as the Boys and Girls teams took the KIF play Saturday with scores of 310 for the Boys, and 241 for the Girls.
Kapa’a’s Billy Toy shaved two strokes from his last week’s score, 83 (39-44) to 81 (40-41), but the Warriors finished the day with 355 strokes for second in the Boys team competition.
Waimea filled in third place three strokes back headed by Ashord Rita’s 81 (40-41).
Allan Baab sparked the Kaua’i Boys with a 76 (37-39), followed by Chad Nonaka at two strokes back.
Jennie Pleas was two strokes better than Lehua Wise at 76 (38-38) to lead the Lady Red Raiders in their team win.
This week’s KIF match takes place at the Mokihana Course at Kaua’i Lagoons with the first group leaving at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 22.
