Segundo Baniaga of Kaumakani died at Hale Kupuna Heritage Home on Jan. 27, 2003 at the age of 80.
Born in Dingras, Ilocos Norte, PI on Mar. 28, 1922, he was a Heavy Equipment Mechanic with Olokele Sugar Co.
He is survived by his wife, Angelita of ‘Ele’ele; two sons, Ryan (Kathy) Baniaga of Dallas, TX. and Randal Baniaga of ‘Ele’ele; two daughters, Sandi (Kent) Brown of Las Vegas, NV. and Sharla Baniaga of Po’ipu; three grandchildren, Marcy Brown, Morris Brown and Bryson Baniaga; three brothers, Francisco Baniaga of Kaumakani, Lauro (Vicky) Baniaga of Philippines and Emilio Baniaga of Philippines; three sisters, Frances Gallegos of Waipahu, O’ahu, Helen (Bonifacio) Ramos of Waipahu, O’ahu and Rosita (Demetrio) Alonzo of Philippines. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 7, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel, service officiated by Rev. James Brooking will begin at 7:30 p.m. Visitation also at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8, at the West Kauai United Methodist Church in Kaumakani; service officiated by Rev. James Brooking will begin at 10:30 a.m. followed by burial at Hanapepe Public Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.
