Jack “Maha” Leoiki
Jack “Maha” Kahanukaumaha Leoiki of Kekaha, Kauai, died at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital, on Jan. 23, 3003, at the age of 87.
Born in Waimea, Kauai, on July 13, 1915, he was a fireman.
He is preceded in death by his daughter: Eileen Ululani Malama. He is survived by four daughters: Roseline (“Lokalia”) Tremaine, Pinky (Paddy Boy) Malama, Sharon “Maha” Leoiki, Lolly Malama; three sons: Rosedale Jack “Bruddah” Leoiki, Robert “Boobie” Leoiki, Rodney “Charman” Leoiki; 22 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Feb. 1, at Borthwick Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and again on Sunday, Feb. 2, at Waimea River Mouth at 1 p.m. for scattering of remains. Casual attire is suggested.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Horace Less
Horace Less of Kilauea died at home on Jan. 8, 2003, at the age of 82.
Born on Dec. 11, 1920, in Fromberg, Germany, he came to Rochester, NY in 1938 where he was married and had two children. He was in the grocery business. In 1970 he moved to Florida and to Kauai in 2001.
He is survived by his daughter Barbara “Magenta” Billet of Kilauea and his son Alan Less of the Republic of Panama.
A memorial blessing was held at Kalihiwai Bay.
