Laurie Yoshida to be governor’s Kaua’i liaison

Laurie Yoshida, 37, has been named Kaua’i liaison for Gov. Linda Lingle. Yoshida’s first day of work in the governor’s office on the first floor of the State Building in Lihu’e is scheduled to be Monday.

Yoshida started Successful Planning, her own consulting business, after serving as president of the Kaua’i Chamber of Commerce. She was Kaua’i Field Director for Lingle’s 2002 gubernatorial Kaua’i campaign.

“The real reason I took the job is because I really want to be part of Governor Lingle’s new beginning” for Hawai’i, Yoshida said.

She is married to Vernon Yoshida, who works in sales at King Auto Center. The couple have one daughter.
