Alice Nagato, Motono Haraguchi

Alice Nagato

Alice Tomita Nagato, of Lihue, Kauai, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital, on Dec. 17, 2002 at the age of 71.

Born in Lihue, Kauai on Mar. 13, 1931, she was a former Secretary with YMCA.

She is survived by three sisters, Helen Tomita of Lihue, Kauai, Patsy (Larry) Ginoza of Waianae, Oahu and Jane (Ronald) Ozaki of Kekaha; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nephews and great nieces.

Service were private.

Arrangements were handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.

Motono Haraguchi

Motono Haraguchi of Hanalei, Kauai, died at Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital on Dec. 14, 2002 at the age of 99.

Born in Fukuoka, Japan on Jan. 29, 1903, she was a Rice Farmer with Haraguchi Farm.

She is survived by three sons, William (Janet) Haraguchi of Hanalei, Isami (Esther) Haraguchi of San Jose, CA., and Tsutomu (Marilyn) Haraguchi of Honolulu; daughter, Thelma (Dick) Matsuo of Honolulu; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may visit with the family at 4 p.m. on Thurs. Dec. 26, 2002 at the Kapaa Hongwanji Mission; service officiated by Rev. Koho Takata will begin at 5 p.m. Casual attire and flowers omitted.
