Kenneth Gross, 42, of Kapa’a, was bound over to Circuit Court to face charges of first-degree robbery and first-degree burglary and is scheduled to appear Dec. 30 in Fifth Circuit Court in Lihu’e.
Gross was arraigned on the charges Monday and a preliminary hearing held Wednesday in District Court established that there was sufficient evidence to proceed to trial in Fifth Circuit Court on felony charges.
Gross was arrested on Dec. 14, 2002 after the Kauai Police Department investigated a robbery complaint at the Puhi Thrifty Mart.
He broke into the convenience store with a crowbar and demanded money from the cashiers, who were closing up at the time. A nearby shop-owner de-masked Gross, who tried to escape but was arrested shortly after attempting to run away.
