Kiyoshi Oyama of Kalaheo, Kauai, died at home on Dec. 4, 2002 at the age of 95.
Born in Wahiawa, Kauai on May 25, 1907, he was an independent pineapple farmer.
He is survived by four sons, Seichi (Ethel) Oyama of Lawai, Kauai, Roy (Gladys) Oyama of Kalaheo, Kauai, James (Kathleen) Oyama of Hanama’ulu, Kauai and Herbert Oyama of Hanamaulu, Kauai; daughter Betty (Earl) Kobayashi of Kona; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Yoshito Oyama of Honolulu; three sisters, Shigeko Ishibashi of Honolulu, Kinuko (Shikinori) Ishibashi of Kalaheo, Kauai and Haruko Nagata of Kalaheo, Kauai; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 8, at the Garden Island Mortuary chapel; service officiated by Rev. Sakamoto will begin at 5 p.m. Casual attire is suggested and flowers omitted.
