Flora Arrocena Agpaoa of Kapaa, Kauai, died at Straub Hospital, on Nov. 22, 2002, at the age of 69.
Born in the Philippines on Nov. 12, 1933, she was a laborer for the Sugar Plantation.
She is survived by her husband, Maximo Agpaoa of Kapaa; eight children: Ofelia (Tomas) Garcia of Kapaa, Felipa (Don) Newhouse of Kapaa, Tessie (Tony) Sotelo of Oahu, Danilo (Elvira) Agpaoa of Kapaa, Freddie (Imelda) Agpaoa of Las Vegas, Magelyn (Leonard) Negrillo of Hanama’ulu, Leilani Agpaoa of Philippines, Angeles Agpaoa of Philippines; one brother: Ernesto Arrocena of Manila, Philippines; one sister: Dolores Ladao of Zambales, Philippines, 19 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, Dec. 5, at Borthwick Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Rosary at 7 p.m. and again on Friday, dec. 6, at St. Catherine’s Church in Kapaa from 9 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. where mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. by Father Bruce. Burial to follow at Kalapaki Bay Memorial Park Cemetery in Lihue. Casual attire is suggested.
