With 28.1 percent of honeymoon travelers, Hawai’i ranked well above Europe (18.2 percent) and Australia (16.8 percent). Hawai’i’s 2002 share of fall honeymooners is near its share of 2000, when 28.6 percent of Japan fall honeymooners planned trips to the state.
The Kaua’i Visitors Bureau has made a prolonged, concerted effort to promote Kaua’i as a place for romance to newlyweds, those getting married or celebrating anniversaries, and other couples in love.
