If you’ve every said there’s nothing to do on Kaua’i, you probably aren’t much of a sports fan.
Saturday presents two major events – the Hawaii Surfing Federation’s second contest and the Kaua’i Coconut Memorial Bowl – open for all fans willing to get off the couch and out of the house.
The Kapa’a Pop Warner League will host the Memorial Bowl today under the new lights of Kapa’a New Park.
The tournament – which features teams from Oahu, the Big Island, Puna, Kona and San Diego, Calif. – will be played in honor of the late Wilfred Kaui and Tom Harper, each intstrumental in the development of Pop Warner football on Kaua’i.
Also on Saturday, The Hawaiian Surfing Federation will be holding its second contest of the season at Polihale Beach Park Nov. 23-24.
The contest will feature various age divisions in Bodyboarding and Surfing.
Start time is 8 a.m., beginning with bodyboarding. Surfing check-in is 9:45 a.m.
