LIHUE – The Kaua’i Boys topped Ikaika 6-3 Tuesday to clinch to 2002 35-over Slow Pitch Softball League Championship.
The Kaua’i Boys captured the title with a 9-1 record. The Braddahs were the runner-up with an 8-2 record.
Jon Kahaunaele had two singles and Willie Nuivo knocked in two rbis one single to give the Kaua’i Boys the win on Tuesday.
Ikaika was led by Peter Rayno, who had one rbi on one triple and one single. Henry Hee added two hits for Ikaika.
Hard Knocks 11, Youngblood 6
The Hard Knocks scored five runs in the sixth innings, capped by an rbi by Wayne Allianic, to topple Youngblood 11-6 Tuesday in Lihue.
The Hard Knocks scored 10 runs in the final two innings. Andy Ragasa took the win, allowing 13 hits. Sandy Pacheco allowed 14 and garnered the loss.
Dean Pigao, Raynette Ventar and Jexx Hashimoto each chipped in one rbi on two hits for the Hard Knocks. Allianic had three singles with his sixth inning rbi.
Youngblood was led by Dickie Koerte, who notched one rbi on three singles. Darrell Borrero had two singles and one rbi and Aaron Uyeda added one single and one rbi.
A third game was supposed to be played, but Universal Delivery forfeited their game with the Braddahs.
