LIHUE – The girls of Island School’s Air Riflery team topped Kaua’i High 993-985 but their boys lost 1,076-977 Tuesday in another KIF regular season bout in Lihue.
The Island School girls were led by Kasey Alcott, who shot for 223 points – 87 prone, 61 standing, 75 kneeling. Also chipping in points were Jeni Gueber (198), Molly McKenna (198), Atheena Yee (189) and Rachel Island (185).
The Raider girls were led by Terra Bell with 216 points. Christyl Nagao (209), Jolene Koerte (188), Parris Zina (188) and Tatiana Zina (184) rounded out the Raider scoring.
The victorious Raider boys were led by William Wright, who shot for 247 points – 83 prone, 83 standing, 81 kneeling. He was followed by Aaron Patterson (221), Bryce Hamamoto (210), Dustin Russell (201) and Tyler Carvahlo (197).
The Island School boys were led by Drew Goldsman, who shot for 233 points. Chaz Chapin (210), Chris Hoffman (193), Alan Hoffman (185) and Nori Matsumoto (156) rounded out Island School’s total tally.
