Waimea Menehune look for 11th straight KIF title on homecoming day

Waimea’s Tyson Fernandez rakes in a long Jon Palacio pass under the pressure of Kapa’a’s Jonny Poe Hooikaika in the first half. The Menehunes went on to defeat the Warriors 55-7, which put them one game from winning their 11th straight Kaua’i Interscholastic Federation championship. The Menehunes will be looking to clinch the title this Friday – on their homecoming day – when they face the Kaua’i Red Raiders at Hanapepe Stadium. Game time is slated for 5 p.m. junior varsity, 7:30 p.m. varsity.
