Camilo Tangonan
Camilo Tangonan of Lihue, Kauai, died at home on Oct. 10, 2002 at the age of 81.
Born in Sinait, Ilocos Sur, Philippines on Sept. 8, 1921, he was a retired Automotive Technician with Grove Farm.
He is survived by wife, Noemi of Lihu’e, two sons, Rinante (Mildred) Tangonan of Lihue, Kauai and Fred Tangonan of Lihue; two daughters, Jacqueline (Joseph) Cafferello of Kaneohe, Oahu and Estrelita (Joseph) Castro of Mililani, Oahu; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four brothers, Emiliano Tangonan of Maui, Canuto Tangonan of Kilauea, Sebastian Tangonan of Kilauea and Narciso Tangonan of Davao, Philippines; sister, Natividad Duran of Davao, Philippines; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Lihue United Church of Christ; service officiated by Rev. Wesley B. Elmore will begin at 10 a.m. followed by burial at the Kauai Memorial Gardens. Casual or aloha attire is suggested.

Dionicio Olivas of Waimea, Kauai, died at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital on Oct. 13, 2002 at the age of 75.
Born in Magsingal, Ilocos, Philippines on Feb. 23, 1927, he was a Drip Irrigator with Kekaha Plantation.
He is survived by wife, Vicenta “Vicky” of Waimea, Kauai; two sons, Norvin G. (Jessica) Olivas of Lihue, Kauai and Dennis Olivas of Oakland, CA.; daughter, Erlinda (Malik) Miah of San Francisco, CA.; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Santiago (Ida) Olivas of Santa Rosa, CA. Numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 9 a.m. on Oct. 19, at the Waimea Sacred Hearts Catholic Church; service officiated by Father Larry will begin at 10 a.m. Casual attire is suggested and flowers omitted.

Sigrid Ellen Makanani of Lihue, Kauai, died at home on Oct. 2, 2002 at the age of 65.
Born in Germany on Nov. 21, 1936, she was a Chemist.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wed. Oct. 16, at the Lihue Cemetery . Aloha attire is suggested.

Emy Ramirez
Emy Ramirez of Kilauea, Kauai, died at home on Oct. 12, 2002 at the age of 75.
Born in Asingan, Pangasinan, Philippines on July 23, 1927, she was a House Keeper with Princeville Hotel.
She is survived by son, Robert (Paz) Ramirez of Kilauea; three grandchildren, Raymond, Ronald and Robert Jr.; two sisters, Leonora P. Cariazo of Philippines and Lolita P. (William) Villanueva of Kilauea, Kauai; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may visit with the family at 6 p.m. on Oct. 17, at the Kilauea St. Sylvester Catholic Church; rosary to begin at 7 p.m. Visitation also at 9 a.m. on Oct. 18, at the Kilauea St. Sylvester Catholic Church; service officiated by Father Bruce will begin at 11 a.m. Followed by burial at the Kilauea Catholic Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.
