Powwow color guard

The Native American color guard, garbed in full regalia of the tribes they represent, prepare to enter the dance arena for the Grand Entry during the Powwow 2002 held on Saturday and Sunday at the Kukui Grove Park and Pavilion. In addition to the Indian dancing and chanting, patrons could indulge in Native American dishes such as frybread and Indian taco as well as browse through several crafts tents offering artifacts and Indian jewelry. The event was hosted by the Kaua’i Powwow Council. Staff Photo by Dennis Fujimoto
