LIHUE – Deadlocked in the fourth inning 3-3, the Braddah’s scored four runs in the seventh to top Universal Delivery 7-3 Tuesday in another series of 35-over slow pitch softball.
Todd Young allowed nine hits and took the win for the Braddah’s; Peter Ishibashi took the loss for Universal Delivery.
Buddy Texeira led the way for the Braddah’s with three rbis on two singles. Robert Labuguen each had two singles and one rbi apiece. Todd Young and Daryl Labuguen each had two singles and Dela Dela Cruz drove in a run.
For Universal, Russell Nakata had two singles and one rbi, Joel Sumida had two singles.
Kaua’i Boys 11, Hard Knocks 1
Up 5-1 before the after six innings, the Kaua’i Boys didn’t need the extra six runs in the seventh, but they scored them anyway, adding extra insurance to their rather imminent 11-1 win over the Hard Knocks.
Dee Dee Ibia allowed four hits to take the win, Andy Ragasa took the loss.
Dan Ouderkirk had a big game for the Kaua’i Boys, notching 5 rbis on a home run and a single. Rich Bryan added two rbis on two singles and Steve Devin chipped in two rbis on one single. Jon Kaunaele had three hits and one rbi and Ibia had a single and a double.
Four players each had one single for the Hard Knocks.
Youngblood 5, Ikaika 0
Youngblood’s Hoku Cup Choy allowed three hits in a 5-0 shutout of Ikaika Tuesday.
Tomas Quest took the loss for Ikaika.
Weslie Pegador and Clinton Fujii each had two hits; Cup Choy had three; and Mario Longboy led the way for Youngblood with two rbis on two hits.
Three players each had a single for Ikaika.
