Columbia, Mo. – William Woods’ setter and Kaua’i graduate Heather Roberts has been named the American Midwest Conference and NAIA Region V Setter-of-the-Week for the second time in the last four weeks.
Roberts, from Koloa, Hawaii, has played a big part in William Woods’ current 14-3 overall record. The Owls are currently the third-ranked team in Region V of the NAIA. Woods pulled enough votes in the latest NAIA National Poll to move into the 35th spot.
The 5’7″ sophomore led the Owls to 2 wins last week, averaging 12.5 assists per game. In addition, Roberts compiled 4 service aces, 7 kills and 10 digs.
Roberts currently ranks second in the AMC in assists per game with an 11.2 average, just two-tenths of a point off the lead. Roberts also ranks second in the league in service aces per game at 0.61.
Perhaps her most impressive statistic is in an area that is not officially recognized by the American Midwest Conference. In 330 service attempts this year, Roberts has committed only 4 errors. That 98.8% serving success ratio is considerably better than anyone in the league when the total number of serves is factored in.
