“Those campaigning for office and the public will be able [to] share their views and ideas concerning people with disabilities,” the KCIL said in a statement.
The KCIL is dedicated to ensuring that people with disabilities of all types are able to live independently and fully integrated outside of institutional settings.
Mayoral candidates Ron Kouchi and Bryan Baptiste are scheduled to attend. The county council candidates are John Barretto, Raymond Chuan, Jay Furfaro, Rhoda Libre, Erick Moon, Joe Munechika, Ray Paler, Mel Rapozo, Jimmy Tokioka and JoAnn Yukimura. State senate candidates Gary Hooser and Rosie Holt are also on the list.
Friends, family and caretakers of people with disabilities, as well as interested members of the community, are invited to attend the forum. The event is free, but lunch will be served for $11 per person.
The forum will be held today at the Aloha Beach Resort in Wailua. Please call 245-4034 to reserve a seat or for more information.
