AIG Hawaii Insurance Company has announced to University of Hawaii (UH) football fans on Kaua’i that they can watch one Warrior home game for free.
Policyholders on Kaua’i, Maui and the Big Island are being invited to pick up a coupon for one live pay-per-view game at their local AIG Hawaii office. The coupon can be used to view any one of the five remaining live UH home games (with the exception of the Alabama game, which ESPN owns the rights to).
The Warriors are coming off a 42-10 drubbing of SMU and are playing inspired and exciting football. The Warriors are off to a 3-1 start overall and 2-0 in the WAC, reminiscent of the 1999 championship season. If UH posts a victory over Boise State this weekend, it will mark the first time in 20 seasons that the Warriors have gotten off to a 3-0 start in the WAC.
Speaking of winning, after coming off a winning season last year, UH announced that Neighbor Island residents would have to pay $5 to view live UH football home games this season. Previously, Neighbor Island residents were able to view the games for free.
The company says its pay-per-view coupons are “AIG Hawaii’s way of saying thanks to their policyholders on the Neighbor Islands, who don’t always have the luxury of attending UH home games in person.”
