Gelacio Pascual Sr.
Gelacio Pascual Sr. of Lihu’e, Kauai, died at home on Sept. 25, 2002, at the age of 93.
Born in Laoag City, Philippines on December 23, 1908, he was a retired mail carrier with Akita Enterprise.
He is survived by wife, Aida Pascual of Lihu’e, Kauai; two sons; Gelacio Pascual Jr. and Francis Pascual both of Lihu’e, Kauai; daughter, Sally (Cliff) Abe of Kapa’a, Kaua’i; grand-daughter, Kerrilyn Villa; great-grandchildren, Chance, Skye, Nalu; brother, Isaac Pascual Sr. There are numerous nieces and nephews and family.
Friends may visit with the family from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 4, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel. Services, officiated by Father Keahi will begin at 7 p.m. with rosary. Visitation wil be from 9-10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Holy Cross Catholic Church. Mass will be at 10 a.m., followed by burial at the Kaua’i Memorial Gardens. Casual attire is suggested.

Katsuyuki Fukushima
Katsuyuki Fukushima of Lihu’e, Kaua’i, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Sept. 29, 2002, at the age of 88.
Born in Honaunau, Hawaii on Jan. 20, 1914, he was a meat cutter with Kauai Surf Hotel; also a veteran of the 100th Battalion U.S. Army.
He is survived by wife, Matsue of Lihue, Kauai; five sons, Dennis (Jerilyn) Fukushima of Lihue, Kauai, Alvin (Claire) Fukushima of Waimea, Kauai; Calvin (Rowena) Fukushima of Lihue, Kauai, Bernard Fukushima of Lihue, Kauai and Eugene Noel Fukushima of Lihue, Kauai; daughter, Joy (Randall) Goto of Lihue, Kauai; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Fukushima of Anchorage, Alaska and Katsutaka Fukushima of Kona, Hawaii; sister, Harue Sonoda of Capt. Cook, Hawaii; numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family at 3 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 7, at the Kauai Veterans Cemetery; service at 4 p.m. Aloha attire is suggested and flowers omitted.

Laurie Odo
Laurie Hiroko Odo of Hanapepe, Kauai, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Sept. 28, 2002, at the age of 47.
Born in Lihue, Kauai on Nov. 1, 1955, she was a self-employed business person.
She is survived by husband, Bernard of Hanapepe, Kauai; step-son, Bryan Odo of Japan; parents, James and Tsugie Azeka of Hanapepe, Kauai; brother, Miles (Faye) Azeka of Lihue, Kauai; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral service will begin at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 3, at the Garden Island Mortuary chapel.
Casual attire is suggested and flowers omitted.

Russell Obar
Russell Timothy Obar of Kialuea died on Sept. 27, 2002. He was born on April 23, 1965.
He is survived by his mother; Gladys Obar, sister; Michelle Obar, brother; Jamie (Claudean) of Kilauea, sister; Dezeree (Jeff) of Hanamaulu, sister; Gloria Paris of Honolulu and Corinna Obar (Mark) of Edmonds, Wash. There are four nieces, three nephews and numerous cousins, friends and acquaintances.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 5, at Waioli Hulia Church in Hanalei. Casual attire is suggested.
Wayne Ramsey
Wayne Ramsey of Lihu’e, died at Wilcox Hospital on Sept. 21, 2002, at the age of 52.
A clerk, he was born in California on Dec. 25, 1949.
He is survived by his son; Sean Ramey, sister; Mariann (Eskel) Laymance, brother; Jim Ramsey. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be on a later date.
