A colorful new brochure with information on Kaua’i’s festivals is now available.
The brochure is set to be updated twice a year and offers descriptions of festivals, dates and contact information.
The full-color brochure folds open into a mini-poster illustrated with a Kaua’i pa’u rider and a date-by-date calendar of events.
A new brochure is set to be released in December, and will cover events from January-June 2003.
“This is part of our efforts to help the festivals market themselves,” said Nalani Brun of the County’s Office of Economic Development. “We will be issuing them from the airport and offer them to all concierge desks, activity desks, vacation properties.”
Brun said she is looking for outlets to distribute the free brochure.
The project is being funded by the County’s Office of Economic Development and the Hawaii Tourism Authority, and is being coordinated with the Kaua’i Visitors Bureau.
“We’re looking for anybody who can help us get them out to visitors and local residents so they can check out Kaua’i’s great festivals,” she said.
Brun said festivals appearing in the brochure have been carefully checked before being included to make sure the events being publicized are held as planned.
In the works is a Web site that will offer information about the festivals. This will help festivals that do not already have a Web site already, Brun said.
A special Kauai Festivals logo is being used to promote the events calendar and the festivals.
Anyone interested in distributing the brochures can call Brun at 241-6390 or send an e-mail to nbrun@kauaigov.com.
The brochures can be picked up at the Mo’ikeha Building in the County’s Civic Center in Lihu’e upstairs in the round building at 4444 Rice St. in suite 200.
