LIHUE – T.J. Kua, Wiley Yoshioka and Kelli Oride won their respective age groups in a HSJGA Junior Tour Series tournament at Kaua’i Lagoons (Mokihana) Golf Course Saturday.
Kua shot an even par 72 to dominate the Boys 11-12 age group. The closest behind the Kauaian was Oahu’s Chandler Mato, who was eight strokes back with an 80.
Oahu’s Jared Sawada and Travis Inouye each shot an 82, and Kauaians Grant Paiste, Travis Toguchi and Markland Soliva were in a group of five with 84s.
Other Kauaians in the Boys 11-12 division: Micah Yoshioka, Byron Rualizo and Cory Oride each shot an 88; Cyrus Ogawa finished at 89; Taylor Bell shot a 92 and Royce Ramos ended with a 116.
Kaua’i’s Makana Sakihama shot an 87 to place second in the Girls 11-12 division. She was five strokes behind bracket winner Ha’aheo Manini-Hew Len of Oahu, who shot an 82.
Kaua’i’s Wiley Yoshioka shot a 42 (9-holes, par 36) to win the 10-under Boys division at Kaua’i Lagoons’ Mokihana course. He won by one stroke over Jonah Fonacier and Alika Bell of Oahu.
Shea Shimabukuro was the next Kauaian on the list with a 52; Kaimana Rivera shot a 56.
Kelli Oride topped the 10-under female list with a 53 (9-under par 36). She was two strokes better than fellow Kauaian Rae-Lyn Morikawa, who shot a 55.
