Mitsuyo Nomi of Lawai, Kauai, died at Wilcox Mem. Hosp. on Sept. 2, 2002 at the age of 83.
Born in Waimea, Kauai on Nov. 8, 1918, she was a Warehouse Worker with Kauai Pine Co., she is survived by a son, Marvin (Jennie) Nomi of Kapaa, Kauai; daughter, Edith Sakai of Oahu; two grandchildren; three brothers, Masayoshi (Hatsue) Yamakawa, Shime (Mitsue) Yamakawa and Hisashi (Yoshie)Yamakawa ; three sisters, Patsy Takano (Eseo) Watanabe, Florence Umeno (Ike Torao) Ikari and Carole Akiko Yukihiro. Private services were held.
Arrangements were handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Uki Miyazaki
Uki Miyazaki of Waimea, Kaua’i, died on Sept. 20, 2002, at Hale Kupuna Heritage Home, at the age of 98.
A mill worker with the Waimea Poi Mill, she was born May 16, 1904, on Kaua’i.
She is survived by sons, Yoshio and Robert Miyazaki; daughters, Kikue Kusatani, Mitsue Yamakawa and Alice Yoshimori; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Fujie Takata and Yoshiko Fujikane.
Funeral service will begin at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 25, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel.
The family asks that flowers be omitted and suggests casual attire. Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary.
