Lauae Jean Arashiro of Kekaha, Kaua’i, died at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital on Sept. 17, 2002 at the age of 73.
Born in Makaweli, Kauai on Sept. 1, 1929, she was a Kupuna with the DOE.
She is survived by husband, Osamu “Shorty” Arashiro of Kekaha; two sons, Amos Arashiro and Alvin (Carmen) Arashiro both of Kekaha, Kauai; three daughters, Annabelle Fackrell of Draper, Utah, Cheryl Lou Arashiro of Kekaha, Kauai and Laureen “Ari” Arashiro of Oahu; hanai daughter, Sasha Figueira of Kekaha, Kauai; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Carolyn “Uluwehi” Kilauano of Kekaha, Kauai and Wynnie (Alan) Yee of San Francisco, CA., numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Kekaha Ward; service officiated by Bishop Steven Karratti will begin at 2 p.m. Followed by burial at Kauai Veterans Cemetery. Casual or aloha attire is suggested.
