Hepa arrested for assault of infant

Anthony Hepa, 34, of Kapa’a, was arrested by the Kaua’i Police Department and released on Sept. 12 pending further investigation in connection with the assault of a 22-month-old baby. The Kaua’i infant was transported Sept. 8 to Kapi’olani Medical Clinic

Anthony Hepa, 34, of Kapa’a, was arrested by the Kaua’i Police Department and released on Sept. 12 pending further investigation in connection with the assault of a 22-month-old baby.

The Kaua’i infant was transported Sept. 8 to Kapi’olani Medical Clinic for Women and Children on O’ahu for injuries caused by blunt trauma to the abdominal area. He was first treated at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Sept. 6.

The boy remains in critical condition and the case is also being examined by Child Protective Services.
