Zarbaugh named top Kaua’i District teacher

The Department of Education honored six educators Wednesday as the 2003 District Teachers of the year.

Representing the Kaua’i District schools is Roberta Zarbaugh, who teachers language arts to students in grades 7-8 at Kapa’a Middle School. Zarburgh has eight years of teaching experience.

The educators were recognized at a luncheon held at the Hale Koa Hotel in Waikiki.

Each teacher received $500 and the use of a new car for one year.

Zarbaugh is also in the running for the DOE’s State Teacher of the Year award. The winner is to be announced in October.
