Felix Boreliz, Dennis Sakai, Donald Silva

Felix Boreliz

Felix Boreliz of Kapaa, Kauai, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital, on Aug. 29, 2002, at the age of 86.

Born on July 23, 1916, in Wailua, Kauai. He worked for the County of Kauai and Coco Palms Hotel. He was also in the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife: Helen Boreliz; three daughters: Beatrice Boreliz; Mercy (Leonard) Labrador and Diana Boreliz. 3 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren.

Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002 at St. Catherine’s Church in Kapaa from 9 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. where mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens. Casual attire is suggested.

Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.

Dennis Sakai

Dennis Masaharu Sakai, 59, of Kaneohe, died Aug. 26, 2002.

He was born on April 15, 1943 in Waimea, Kauai. He was a Geo-Technical Engineer for the State of Hawaii, Department of Transportation Material Testing Lab.

He is survived by his wife: Carol Y. Sakai; sons: Scott Sakai and Shaun Sakai; daughter: Sharie (Matthew) Jumalon of Kona; mother: Hannah Sakai of Kekaha; brother: Wayne (Edith) Sakai; sister: Aileen (Roy) Nitta of Kekaha, 3 grandchildren.

Friends may visit with the family on Friday, Sept. 6, 2002 at Nuuanu Mortuary, East Chapel. Casual attire is suggested.

Arrangements are being handled by Nuuanu Mortuary.

Donald Silva

Donald Silva of Honolulu, O’ahu, died at Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital on Aug. 29, 2002 at the age of 72.

Born in Wailuku, Maui on May 13, 1930, he was a printer with the Star Bulletin. He is survived by two brothers, Leonard (Priscilla) Silva and Kenneth (Trudy) Silva; two sisters, Gurdy (Lowell) Machado and Maraea Gasper all of Oahu. Private interment service will be held.

Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
