Kaua’i County Council Chair Ron Kouchi, one of four candidates for mayor, recently remarked that a Lihue Business Association mayoral forum marked just the second time all four candidates had been invited to the same place at the same time.
Three of four candidates as of yesterday indicated they will participate in a mayoral forum tomorrow, Wednesday, Aug. 28, from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at the Lihu’e Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall on Hardy Street.
The county’s Committee on the Status of Women is sponsoring the event, in collaboration with the League of Women Voters of Kauai.

Due to a lack of adequate response from the 20 candidates for governor, a gubernatorial forum originally scheduled for this Thursday, Aug. 29, at the Kaua’i Community College Performing Arts Center, has been canceled.
That word came Monday from representatives of the League of Women Voters of Kauai, which along with the Kaua’i chapter of the Hawaii Credit Union League had planned that forum.
