Kawaihau Community Little League is in the process of starting its 2002-2003 season. People interested in participating as board members, coaches, managers, and umpires need to become active, regular members. Deadline for sign-up is Thursday, Sept. 5, by 4 p.m. at Rosa’s Supply. A general membership meeting of approved members only will be held on Monday, Sept. 9, at 7 p.m. at the Kapaa Neighborhood Center with election of the Board of Directors on Thursday, Sept. 12, from 4-7 p.m. at the Main Diamond Food Booth.
9th Annual Goodfellow Brothers/CAK Scholarship golf tourney
POIPU – The 9th Annual Goodfellow Brothers/CAK Scholarship Golf Tournament will be held Saturday, Sept. 14 at the Poipu Bay Golf Resort course.
Advance registration deadline is August 23.
The two-person best ball tournament will also have a Callaway flight for people without established handicaps. The grand prize will be a trip to Las Vegas for the 9th place team (yes, the 9th place team), and there will be inter-island golf weekends, merchandise prizes and the King Auto Center hole-in-one contest.

Motocross Races Labor Day weekend
Attention racing fans. Kauai Motorcross Riders Association is holding their 48th Annual Labor Day Races.
This year the races will be a two day event held on Saturday, Aug. 31 and Sunday, Sept. 1 at the Wailua Motocross Track.
Races start at 10 a.m. on each day. Many top outer island racers will be here to challenge our Kauai Boyz.

Kaua’i Seniors Golf Tourney coming soon
WAILUA – The Third Quarterly Tournament for the 2002 Kaua’i Senior Golf season will take place Saturday, Aug. 31, for Kaua’i Senior Golf Club members.
Entry forms are available at Wailua Golf Course. The August handicaps will be used. Call the golf course for additional information.
Slow-pitch Softball League for
ages 35-over
LIHUE – An organizational meeting for teams interested in participating in the upcoming 35-over Softball League will be held Wednesday, Aug. 28, at the Old Lihue Neighborhood Center at 6:30 p.m.
The League will tentatively start Sept. 10, with games played at Isenberg Field Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Only the first six teams registered and paid will be accepted.

Boys and Girls Club Flag Football League
Boys and girls, ages 7-9 or 10-12, are welcome to participate in the Boys and Girls Club of Hawaii Flag Football League. Registration begins Tuesday, Aug. 27 and ends Sept. 10. Forms can be picked up at the Waimea and Kapa’a Boys and Girls Clubhouses.
Practices for the league are dependent upon the individual coach’s schedule. Game schedules will be announced at a later date.
The Boys and Girls Club of Hawaii – Waimea and Kapa’a Clubhouses – are seeking volunteer coaches for their Flag Football Leagues.
If you enjoy working with kids and have knowledge of football, this could be a good opportunity to make a difference in the community and a child’s life.
