Delores Shaffer

Delores Shaffer of Puhi, Kauai, died at home on Aug. 21, 2002, at the age of 57.

Born in Honolulu, Oahu, on Dec. 2, 1944, she was a file clerk with Pahio Resorts in Princeville.

She is survived by sons, Joshua Sanchez of Puhi, Jeremy Sanchez of Puhi; daughters, JoAnn Shaffer of Puhi, Kerrie Shaffer of Puhi; brothers, Jacintho Duque of Boston, Mass., Dennis Duque of San Jose, Calif., Lawrence Duque of Hanama’ulu, Kauai, Derick (Cindy) Reis of Lawai, Kauai; sisters, Mary Jane (Bernard) Simao of Kalaheo, Kauai, Josephine (Michael) Alburayk of San Jose, Calif., Diana (Darrel) Simao of Lawai, Kauai, Linda (Michael) Koerte of Hanamaulu, Kauai.

Services are private. Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.

Ernie McCoy

Ernie Kuulei McCoy of Honolulu, died Aug. 21, 2002, at Kaiser Foundation Hospital at the age of 70.

A retired office manage,r he was born Nov. 25, 1931, on Molokai.

He is survived by sons: Chad Schimmelfennig of Poipu, Kauai, Herman Schimmelfennig of Robertsdale, Ala., John Alana of Orange County, Calif., Glenn Alana, Cline Alana, Ernest Alana; daughters: Mona Chatoulie, Pearl Ting; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brotehrs of Hilo: Gilbert Chang, Delbert Chang, Jerry Chang,; sister of Hilo, Shirleen Rayoan; nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m., Monday, Aug. 26, at Borthwick Mortuary on Oahu with service at 7 p.m. by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints-Makiki Ward.

Aloha attire is suggested. Private scattering of ashes will take place later. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Mortuary.
