State Rep. Ezra Kanoho greets gubernatorial candidate Ed Case, and Case’s wife Audrey Case, at the opening of the candidate’s Kaua’i campaign headquarters Friday afternoon at the Kukui Grove Village next door to the Mokihana Insurance Agency. Kanoho officiated over the blessing and dedicatory services. Case is the son of Kaua’i-native Jim Case, and grandson of longtime Kaua’i residents Hib and Betty/Marie Case. Hib Case was the treasurer of the Grove Farm Plantation, and oversaw food distribution on Kaua’i during World War II. His cousin is Steve Case, founder of America OnLine. The gubernatorial candidate was a legislative assistant to U.S. Senator and Westside native Spark Matsunaga.
“I look forward to making Kaua’i, where so much of my own personal and political heritage lies, a full partner in my administration,” said Case. “Audrey and I invite the people of Kaua’i to join us on Friday to celebrate the hard work that has brought our campaign to this point and to look ahead to the exciting days ahead of us.”
Co-coordinators of the Case for Governor campaign on Kaua’i are Louis Abrams and Dean Toyofuku.
