Harry ‘Bully’ Soares Jr.
Harry “Bully” Soares Jr. of Lihu’e, Kaua’i, died at his residence on Aug. 7, 2002, at the age of 50.
Born in Lihu’e, Kaua’i, on Feb. 12, 1952, he was a truck driver for Kekaha Landfill.
He is survived by his wife: Iwalani Kanoho Soares of Lihue; father: Harry Soares, Sr. of Kalaheo; three sons: Harry Soares, III of Oma’o, Joshua Soares of Lihu’e, Aaron (Jessica) Soares of Oma’o; one daughter: Chantel Soares of Oma’o, two brothers: Wayne (Renee) Soares of O’ahu, Jesse (Pernella) Soares of Kalaheo; two sisters: Stephanie Silva of Kalaheo, Brenda (Ernest) Silva of Kalaheo; three step-children: Eldean Tanigawa of Florida; Daniel Pimental of Lihu’e and Darson Pimental of Lihu’e; 1 grand-daughter, 3 step-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews & cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Monday, Aug. 12, at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo from 1-2:45 p.m. where mass will be celebrated at 3 p.m. by Father Keahi. Burial to follow at Lihu’e Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.

Lisa Marie Simao of Kalaheo, Kaua’i, died Aug. 1, 2002, at the age of 38.
A waitress for Joe’s on the Green, she was born in Lihu’e, Kaua’i, on June 12, 1964.
She is survived by her parents: Bernard and MaryJane Simao of Kalaheo; one daughter: Marlyssa N. Vidinha of Wailua; two sisters: Lori (Malvin “Brodie”) Medeiros of Kalaheo and Lani Boldt of Honolulu; and five nieces.
Family and friends may call on Friday, Aug. 16, at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo, from 1 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. where Mass will be celebrated at 3 p.m. by Father Keahi.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary.

Kira Marie Vito, daughter of Keith and Leslie Vito, was stillborn on Thursday, July 25, 2002.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 13, at 5 p.m. at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church in Lihue. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent in Kira’s name to St. Michael and All Angels Church.
