Hana Hou emerges as first round champs of HGEA softball league

Hana Hou emerged as the first round champions on Tuesday following a series of HGEA Softball Games.

The Hana Hou topped Custom Limo 6-2 in a day filled with low scores.

Paris Resinto allowed seven hits to notch the win; Didi Ibia took the loss for Custom Limo.

Big Hitters for the Hana Hou: Brenn Nakaahiki had two singles; John Bonachita had two singles; Randy Riggin had two singles and two RBIs.

Big Hitters for Custom Limo: Sam Dias had two singles and one RBI; Destry Carvalho had two singles; Brady Tokuda had two singles.

Hard Knocks edged Rainbow Sports Kaua’i 7-6 .

Dan Fort allowed just eight hits and struck out one batter to maintain the win. Garrett Agena, in relief for Lance Nakata, took the loss for Hard Knocks.

Big Hitters for Hard Knocks: Bryson Ponce had two RBIs on two singles; Dan Fort had two singles and one RBI; Demien McCallum had three singles, one RBI; Corey Rego had three singles; Francis Mission had two singles.

Big Hitters for Rainbow Sports: Galen Shigeta had two RBIs and two singles; the rest of the team each notched one hit.

In the third and final match-up, Na Kolohe topped the Nogi’s 6-2 to close out the first round.

Norman Holt, Jr. took the win for Na Kolohe; John Moniz took the loss for the Nogi’s.

Big Hitters for the Na Kolohe: Aaroun Uyeda had two singles, one double and two RBIs; eight other players each had one hit.

Big Hitters for the Nogi’s: Gordon Tamura had a double and eight other players each had one hit.
