Manuel Antonio Sagucio of Hanapepe, Kauai, died at Queen’s Medical Center on July 18, 2002, at the age of 79.
Born at Lanao, Bangue, Ilocos Norte, Philippines on Feb. 15, 1923. He was a retired guava picker at Kilauea Agronomics.
He is predeceased in death by his wife: Maxima and four sons: Esteban, Florazol, Renato and Eridel Rosario in the Philippines. He is survived by five daughters: Lorenza (Dominador) Mariano of the Philippines; Gimena (Franklin) Antonio of the Philippines; Prescilla Labuguen of the Philippines; Shirley (Stanley) Viquelia of Hanapepe; Nora (Sonny) Galiza of Kaumakani; one son: Jay-Jay “Erning” (Milagros) Sagucio of Kilauea; one brother: Paulo (Maria) Sagucio of Honolulu; two daughter-in-laws: Magdalena & Cornelia both of the Philippines, 34 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews & cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, July 26, 2002 at Borthwick Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. and again on Saturday, July 27, at St. John Episcopal Church in Eleele from 10 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. where a prayer services will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Hanapepe Public Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Santiago Abalos
Santiago Alinado Abalos of Kilauea, Kauai, died at Queens Medical Center on July 16, 2002 at the age of 87.
Born in the Philippines on Dec. 29, 1914, he was an irrigator.
Predeceased by his daughter, Felomina Magalong, son Benigno Abalos and brother Victoriano Abalos;, he is survived by his wife: Loretta Asuncion Abalos of Kilauea; three sons: Alvin (Rose) Abalos of Kilauea; Jose (Aida) Abalos of Hilo, Hi; Martin Abalos of Honolulu; two daughters: Marcelina (Federick) Magalong and Pearla (Michael) Glanton of Atlanta, GA; and daughter-in-law Elizabeth Abalos of Las Vegas, Nev.; 30 grandchildren; 35 great-grand children; numerous nieces & nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, July 26, at the family residence in Kilauea at 4372 Kilauea Rd., from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and again on Saturday, July 27, at St. Sylvester’s Church in Kilauea from 8:30 a.m. – 9:15 a.m. where Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Kilauea Public Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.
