The 17th Annual Tahiti Fete Community Paddling Classic will take place Saturday, July 6, at Hanalei Bay (by Hanalei Pier).
The event, which begins at 10 a.m., is a fundraiser for the Hanalei Civic Canoe Club. It will hold ‘ mile, 6-man canoe races, as well as one-man canoe races to be held that day (course will be Kalihiwai to Hanalei Bay).
For the team races, the club will provide canoes, paddles and steersmen for your business or crew. The event will offer several divisions and categories as well as prizes for the top three crews. There will also be the Best Tahitian Attire Contest, for both teams and individuals.
Along with the contests, there will be food, crafts, shopping booths and drawings to enjoy (including a beautiful Koa canoe paddle) throughout the day.
Registration for the Tahiti Fete Community Paddling Classic is 9 a.m. on race day. For the team rates, it’s $100 per crew. For the one man, it’s $20 per person.
