A 36-year-old North Shore man was seriously injured in a one-vehicle motorcycle crash in Moloa’a between mile-markers 17 and 18, near the old Meadow Gold Dairy.
The motorcyclist, southbound from Kilauea to Anahola, apparently lost control of his cycle and drove it into the guardrail along the opposite lane, according to the Kaua’i Police Department.
The momentum of the motorcycle caused it to drag along the roadway about 150 feet, according to police. The man was then thrown from the motorcycle and landed in some brush over the guardrail about 20 feet from where the cycle landed, according to police.
The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and was admitted to Wilcox Memorial Hospital. He was originally listed in serious condition, but in the afternoon of June 21, he was listed in fair condition. Police said he was wearing a helmet.
