Elizabeth Tavares
Elizabeth Bukoski Tavares, of Kalaheo, Kaua’i, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on June 7, 2002 at the age of 81.
Born in Koloa, Kaua’i on April 21, 1921, she was a Custodial Supervisor with the State of Hawai’i, Airport Division.
She is survived by two sons, Steven J. (Isabelle) Tavares of Kalaheo, Kaua’i and Marvin M. Tavares of Boise Idaho; daughter, Mary Jane (Cecil) Bennett of Sacramento, CA; two brothers, Fredrick (Helen) Bukoski and Manuel (Margaret) Bukoski both of Lawa’i, Kaua’i; sister, Pauline Silva of Kalaheo, Kaua’i; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 9 a.m. on Thursday, June 13, at the Holy Cross Catholic church; service officiated by father Christopher Keahi will begin at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at the church cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.

Harumi Yoshida
Harumi Yoshida of Kapa’a, Kaua’i, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on May 28, 2002 at the age of 81.
Born in Waimea, Kaua’i, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by three sons: Gary (Faye) Yoshida of Hanama’ulu; Alvin (Judy) Yoshida of Kapa’a; Myles Yoshida of Kapa’a; two daughters: Gail (Calvin) Asuncion of Honolulu; Jocelyn Vallejos of Honolulu; three brothers: Takeo Kakuda of Hanapepe; Yasuo Kakuda of California; Kazu Kakuda of Honolulu; three sisters: Edna Matsuda of Hanapepe; Sumie (Masato) Wakumoto of Kapa’a; Hiroko (Nelson) Louis of Oma’o, 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren.
Services were held o n June 5, at the Lihue Hongwanji Church.
Arrangements were handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Robert Goias
Robert Goias of Hanama’ulu, Kaua’i, died at his home on June 6, 2002, at the age of 72.
Born in Lihu’e, Kaua’i on June 1, 1930, he was a retired stevedore with Interstate Motor Lines Freight.
He is survived by his wife, Phylis H. Goias of Wailua, Kauai; two daughters, Robert-Ann Kauailani (Jason Medeiros) Goias and Deborah Ehulani Kaiu both of Wailua, Kaua’i; three grandchildren, Josiah Kealiikuikalani Kaiu, Wehilani Goias-Medeiros and Ehukai Goias-Medeiros, all of Wailua, Kaua’i; brother, Henry T. (Eleanor) Goias of Sacramento, Calif.; sister-in-law: Tina (John) Goias of San Francisco, Calif.; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, June 12, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Friends may visit with the family at 9 a.m. Mass officiated by Father Keahi will begin at 10 a.m. Ashes will be interred at Kauai Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a later date. Aloha attire is suggested.
