Selling cold water can be hard work so Kekaha School student Alakai Kalama, above, indulges in a 50-cent corn-on-the-cob during the school’s June Fair held Wednesday morning. The bargain-priced snack and lunch items were only one part of the fair that also featured a variety of activity stations including the Circle of Light Children’s Cloth of Many Colors, a peace quilt project that will be forwarded to Washington, D.C. where it will become part of a peace program at the Smithsonian mall on September 11, 2002.
Kekaha School May Day Queen Pomai Arthur, top right, indulges in a dollar hot-dog following the school’s May Day program on Wednesday morning. Bottom, VISTA volunteer Autumn Faildo stands by as Pacifica Olores and Aurora Beaver paint out their vision of Peace.
