Services have been scheduled for Sterling Kalama Nobriga of Wailua, Kaua’i, who died at the age of 31.
A Lead Junior Agent for Hawaiian Airlines, he was born May 30, 1971.
He is survived by his wife: Paula Makanalani “Kana” Nobriga of Wailua, Kaua’i; daughter, Torey Kanoelani Nobriga, parents: Greg and Gail Nobriga of Wailua, Kaua’i; grandparents: Gilbert and Mary Medeiros of Lawai, Kaua’i; siblings Boyd and Gaylene Gayagas of Kapahi, Kaua’i, Tania Nobriga and Kalani Addington of Wailua, Kaua’i, Malia Nobriga and Kelii Tihada of Palolo Valley, O’ahu; nieces and nephews Kunane Gayagas, Kainalu Gayagas, Ka Na’i Aupuni Gayagas, Kalaniwahinenuikalauhiwaonalani Gayagas and Quinn Gayagas, all of Kapahi, Kaua’i; in-laws, Paul and Elaine Panui of Koloa, Kaua’i, Joe and Taddy Penzetta of Gilroy, Calif., Greg and Nani Sadora of Hanamaulu, Kaua’i, Chad Panui of Koloa, Kaua’i, and Mikaila Naholoholo of Koloa Kaua’i, Nicholas Penzetta of Gilroy, Calif., Kalei Sadora, Shyanne Sadora, and Skyler Boy Sadora, also of Hanama’ulu, Kaua’i.
A Celebration of Life will be held June 6, at Borthwick’s Kaua’i Mortuary from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
A Celebration of Life will also be held Friday, June 7, at Immaculate Conception Church on Kapaia Road from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with mass to follow at 11 a.m.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary.
Chester Whitcomb
Chester Whitcomb of Kalaheo, Kaua’i, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on June 1, 2002 at the age of 79.
Born in Sommerville, Massachusetts on Nov. 7, 1922. He was a Retired U.S. Coast Guard & Civil Service.
He is survived by his wife, Anne of Lawa’i Valley Estates; son, Donald of O’ahu; daughter, Christine of O’ahu; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 12:30 p.m. at the Kaua’i Veterans Cemetery on Saturday, June 8, 2002. Service to begin at 1 p.m. Casual attire is suggested and flowers omitted.

Franklin M. Doctorello
Franklin M. Doctorello “Doc,” of Honolulu, died on May 27, 2002 at the age of 62.
Born in Honolulu, he was retired from the United States Postal Service.
He is survived by his wife: Delcie, sons: John K. (Sharlene), Matthew K. (Christine), Anthony “Chungy” (Nanette), daughters: Johnleen K. (Brian) Amina of Killeen, Texas, Norvina G. Tagata, Francie Ann K. (Fotu) Telona, Lindel “Ihi”; mother: Rev. Annie K. Doctorello, brothers: Douglas (Pat), Samuel (Kathy), Alika (Caroline) Aikala of Chicago, Ill., sisters: Maryann (Jimmy) Puni of Kaua’i, Dawn Kaalakea, and Priscilla Doctorello. There are 24 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be on Thursday, June 6, at 5 p.m. at Borthwick Mortuary with service at 7 p.m.
Private visitation will be on Friday, June 7, at 7 a.m. with public visitation at 8 a.m. Service will be at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Hawai’i State Veterans Cemetery at 2 p.m.
Eric Lumish
Eric Lumish of Lihu’e, Kaua’i, died at home on June 4, 2002 at the age of 30.
Born in the Bronx, New York on Sept. 2, 1971, he was a Teacher with Kauai High School.
He is survived by his parents, Marty and Eleanor Lumish; numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
Service has been scheduled at 12 noon at the Kalapaki Beach on Sat. June 8, 2002.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Betsyann Fujii
Betsyann “Bets” E. Fujii of Kalaheo, HI, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on May 25, 2002 at the age of 61.
Born in Waimea, HI on March 22, 1941, she was a secretary for the State of Hawaii, Children’s Justice (Advocacy) Center.
She is survived by daughters, Sandra Nojiri-Howarth of Jacksonville, Fla. and Daniele (Patrick) Morris of ‘Oma’o, HI; five grandchildren: Travis Ritter, Sky and Stone Howarth of Jacksonville, Fla., Nicole and Patrick “PJ” Morris of Omao, HI; one sister: Frances (David) Hamada of Kalaheo, Kauai; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family from 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 8, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel. A memorial service will commence at 10 a.m., officiated by Rev. Dan Tamura with burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
