WAILEA – Tiana Lum-Tucker and Kareen Konishi placed third in girls doubles in the HHSAA State Championship Tennis Tournament in Wailea, Maui.
The Red Raider girls fell in the semis to Iolani’s Allison Ishii and Jenna Ishii to get knocked out of the final round, but beat Melissa Tada and Jenna Umeno of Baldwin 7-5, 6-7(4), 6-2 for third place honors.
In terms of team points, Kapa’a and Kaua’i neared the bottom of the order with one apiece. Punahou had 18 points to win the team championship for the boys, and Iolani’s 18 were good enough for top honors for the girls.
For the boys singles, Robbie Lim of Punahou beat Farrington’s Anthony Ilagan for the HHSAA Title. Moanalua’s Jamie Migia came in third.
For the boys doubles, Kealakehe’s Michael Chan and Nainoa DePontes defeated Chris Iwamura and Matt Nakagawa of Punahou 6-3, 7-6(4) for the championship.
For girls singles Iolani’s Mariana Lee topped Hawaii Prep’s Michelle Pautler 6-3, 6-4 for the title.
For girls doubles, Kim Kaloi and Heidi Kaloi of Kamehameha defeated Allison and Jenna Ishii 6-1, 6-1 for the championship.
