Raymondo Pascua
Raymondo Pascua, of Kapa’a, Kaua’i, died on April 29, 2002 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital, at the age of 70.
Born on Jan. 23, 1932, in Kealia, Kaua’i, he was a cook for the State of Hawai’i.
He is survived by his wife: Yvonne Pascua of Kapa’a; six daughters: Donna (Mansfield) Dacay of Lihu’e; Leeann (Michael) Sukehira of Wailua; Kathleen (Newell “Alani”) Woodward of Kapa’a; Suzanne (Randy) Yokoyama of Lawa’i; Stephanie (Larry) Brown of California; Michelle (John) Murphy of Massachusetts; three sons: Raymond (Raleen) Pascua of Kapa’a; Guy (Tina) Pascua of Arizona; Stephen (Val) Pascua of Wailua; three brothers: Manuel Pascua of Wailua; Edward (Joyce) Pascua of Hanama’ulu; Appy Pascua of Kapa’a; 17 grandchildren, 3 great-grandfather, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, May 9, 2002 at St. Catherine’s Church in Kapa’a from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. where services will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial to follow Kaua’i Memorial Gardens. Casual attire is suggested.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kaua’i Mortuary.
Celerina Salvador
Celerina Tumaneng Salvador of Hanama’ulu, Kaua’i, died May 2, 2002, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 87.
A homemaker, she was born Jan. 30, 1915, and raised in Laoag Ilocos Norrte, Philippines. She arrived in Hawai’i in 1990 and has resided in Hanama’ulu since.
She is survived by her husband Candido Salvador of Hanama’ulu; two sons: Filemon Salvador of Hanama’ulu and Rodrigo (Gloria) Salvador of the Philippines; one daughter: Felicidad (Fely) Odoya of Hanama’ulu; two grandsons: Robert Odoya of Hanama’ulu and Rodrigo (Marino) Salvador Jr. of California; and two granddaughters: Marites (Richard) Picart of California and Miriam (Salde) Ramos of the Philippines; and five great grandchildren.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday, May 14, at Immaculate Conception Church from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. where services will be celebrated at 11 a.m. by Father Keahi. Burial to follow at Kaua’i Memorial Gardens.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary.
Antone Parraga
Antone Parraga Jr. of Kekaha, Kauai, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on May 5, 2002, at the age of 70.
Born in Makaweli, Kauai on Dec. 25, 1932, he was a Maintenance Supervisor with Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital.
He is survived by his companion, Carnation Harris, and her children, Raynette (Stuart) Saito of O’ahu, Shane Buesil, Anthony “Ants” (Mel Sukisaki) Harris and Shawn “Kimo” (Jessica Natividad) Parraga, all of Kekaha; Betty B. Parraga and her children: Antonette Parraga of Kalaheo, Tina (Larry) Yadao of Waimea, Anthony “Bully”(Deborah) Parraga of Kekaha, Trinette (Wesley) Kaui of Wailua and Elise (Corey) Silva of Kalaheo.
Friends may visit with the family at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, at the St. Theresa Catholic Church-Kekaha; service officiated by Father Keahi will begin at 11 a.m. followed by burial at the Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe. Casual attire is suggested.

Jeanette Smith Jeanette “J Girl” Ula Smith of Honolulu, died May 1, 2002, at the age of 27.
Born in Waimea, Kaua’i, she is survived by her husband: Spc. Joseph Smith; daughters Shantel and Seirra Smith; parents, Filo and Jeanette (Cremer) Tu of Honolulu; brothers: Keith (Jass) Hardy of Hanapepe, Robert (Liann) Hardy of Lihu’e; Tavi’Lei (Cristy) Tu of Honolulu; sister Susan (Mark) Moriwake of Hanapepe and grandmother, Fano Tu of Samoa.
Visitation will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 9, at Borthwick Mortuary in Honolulu with service at 7 p.m.
The family suggests casual attire and requests that flowers be omitted.

Hisae Shimatsu
Hisae Shimatsu of Kekaha, Kauai, died at home on May 5, 2002 at the age of 90.
Born in Kekaha, Kauai on March 20, 1912, he was a retired Harvesting Supervisor with Kekaha Sugar Co., and a Veteran of WWII – 100th Inf. Battalion.
He is survived by wife, Tomoe Inazu of Kekaha, Kauai; two sons, Gerald and Rodney both of Kekaha, Kauai; two daughters, Susan Ashford of O’ahu and Carole Tsuchiya of Kalaheo, Kaua’i; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four brothers, Yoshiharu of Kekaha, Kauai; Fumiyuki of Kekaha, Kauai, Setsumi of Oahu and Norie of Kekaha, Kauai; numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, at the Kaua’i Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe.
